(From Coach Tim) Hi, Everybody! We had a great time at the Shaolin Wushu tournament this weekend. There was a lot of great traditional kung fu, and amazing Masters demonstrations. Leron Harrison got the gold medal for his sword form, Leron got silver in Mantis form, and Ty Ngo got silver for staff and gold for his monkey form. Here is the video of Ty's monkey.

L.A. Wu-Shu is now offering Tai chi classes. It starts this Sunday,
2:00 p.m.
The cost is $15/class, or $12/class if you buy a block of 5 classes or more.
It's open to all ages, no experience needed.

Coach Tim will be teaching a stunt workshop beginning this Sunday:
L.A. WU-SHU FILM FIGHTING WORKSHOP
We are excited to offer this incredible workshop, for actors and
martial artists of all levels. This 8-week seminar will start with the
basics of film fighting, highlighting Hong Kong-style reactions,
wire-work and weapons, and culminate with a complete fight scene/short
film for your demo reel. Each Master Class in the series can be taken
separately, or the entire package will be offered at a discount rate!
This is an invaluable tool for every actor. The Master Classes are
open enrollment, but the full course will be limited to 10 people, so
sign up today!
Master Classes:
1. Film Fighting-Reactions, punches and kicks, angles etc.- $75
2. Acrobatics and Hong Kong reactions- $75
3. Escrima and other weapons for fights- $75
4. Wire-work- $75
Four additional classes for students signing up for full course:

Our newest coach, Adam MacArthur is teaching a fight training Sanshou/kickboxing class on Tuesday nights at 8:30pm. Classes are $15/each but only $10 for your first time!!!
Come out and train like a fighter!! The class focuses on pad work, medicine ball drills, and other partner training. This is a great way to improve your wushu with hands on application and intense conditioning. All levels are welcome...come get a solid workout, but most importantly...have fun!!

Lots of exciting stuff is happening at L.A. Wu-Shu! Congratulations to everyone who competed last weekend! You all represented!
We have split the group into two classes, letting us devote a lot more time to each student. We are already seeing great results.
We will be offering special MASTER CLASSES this summer with a wide variety of subjects. Already requested:
Straight Sword Advanced Techniques, Acrobatics for Wu-Shu,
Southern Fist, Film Fighting and Reactions, and Wire-Work for Film. If you have other requests, let us know.
Also, to keep prices as low as possible, and still be able to pay rent, we will begin a new payment structure. We will still not charge enrollment fees, and you will still be able
to pay the low, low fee of just $15 per class. PLUS, you can earn discounted or even free MASTER CLASSES!
These prices will go into effect May 1st.
Single Class- $20
4 Classes- $70 ($17.50/class)
8 Classes- $125 ($15.63/class) + Discount of $20 off 1
Master Class
12 Classes- $180 ($15/class) + 1 FREE Master Class
16 Classes- $240 ($15/class) + 2 FREE Master Classes

LAWUSHU is back! And this year looks like it's going to be big. Not
just our class size, which has doubled in the last couple weeks, members
are also getting ready to compete at a few local events including the 16th
Annual Martial Arts Tournament at UC Berkeley.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To our lovely Jess! She has graduated
(Doctorate in Psychology). It is such an honor to have such a wonderful
and talented lady such as Jess as our team mate and I and so proud to
call her my student... AND our Handsome Timmy Storms is returning today
from Wushu's motherland, CHINA where we know he did fantastic work on
the Bruce Lee Project. I've missed him and I am very happy for his safe
return. You ALL did me very proud this past few weeks and I am overjoyed
at your hard work and dedication. I love you all.
